Hi, my name is Kevin Burciaga- entrepreneur, physical therapist, and coach.
I’m dedicated to helping you overcome destructive eating patterns once and for all, achieve your natural body weight, and end your battle with food and weight.
I have a doctor in physical therapy from the University of Saint Augustine, FL.

My Journey and my Struggle
I’ve been on quite the journey. I suffered from multiple eating disorders in my 20’s and early 30’s.
When I was in my third year of college, I developed a keen interest in health, fitness, and nutrition. Sadly, that interest turned into a destructive obsession that led me down a road of almost ten years of disempowered eating habits: binging, purging, chewing and spitting, overexercising, fasting, yo-yo dieting. You name it, I did it.
I wanted to be healthy and lean, but I didn’t know what to do. I couldn’t make good decisions. Something had hijacked my brain and it was making me do thing I didn’t want to do, and I knew I shouldn’t do. I was self-destructing.
At one point, I was as little as 120 pounds with no muscle mass or strength. My highest weight was 175 pounds. I was binging on fast food, milkshakes, ice cream, and candy bars four or five days a week. Some days I would eat 7,000 calories. I kept thinking, “what the hell, I can always change tomorrow.”
It took me a long time to overcome my destructive habits, much longer than it should have.
I realized that I had to do something today or else nothing would ever change. When I started to value today and I quit waiting to change tomorrow, that’s when everything changed.
I used to think willpower, or a lack of, negative emotions, a bad living environment, or dissatisfaction were my problem. But none of that was my problem. My problem was my conscious decision to choose to engage in destructive behavior.
Modifying my diet or using more willpower was never the solution. My solution was making the five mental shifts that I now I teach my free webclass.
Once I made those mental shifts, then I started to notice real changes in my behavior and in my life. I started to lose all that extra weight I had gained. Clothes started to fit better. I started to run again.
After making those mental shifts and implementing them over and over, I feel like I have a new body. I’m in better shape now than I was when I was 20-years-old, when I initially decided to make health my number one goal.
When I was overweight and out of shape, I couldn’t run or swim. Now I can do both because I’m not carrying all that extra weight on my frame.
I believe that in order to overcome your destructive eating habits, you need to be aware of what’s going on, and you need to be truly committed to change. That’s what I can show you.

My life in two paragraphs
I was born in Tampa, FL, while my dad was in the Marines. I grew up near the power and politics of Washington, DC, and earned his Doctor of Physical Therapy at the University of Saint Augustine for Health Sciences in 2015. I have been a traveling physical therapist and have treated patients in four states. I have written for New Grad Physical Therapy and am super proud of my online program the Empowered Eating System.
When I’m not busy building a business, serving Empowered Eating clients, or treating physical therapy patients, you can find me at the gym moving my body long distances or picking up heavy things to improve my endurance and strength. Afterwards you can find me satiating my curiosity watching one of hundreds of YouTube videos in my queue or reading one of the two hundred books on my reading list. And if that isn’t entertaining enough, I always love to explore new places and meet new people, whether it’s in the same zip code or thousands of miles (or kilometers) away. In short, I love to learn.
