Cravings are not your problem

One of the worst enemies of weight loss and fitness is cravings. They're the scourge of everyone trying to lose weight and to eat less.

We all get cravings. I don't know anybody who doesn't. Even "perfect" people who say they never get hungry get cravings. It's part of the human experience.

Even post-recovery, I'm still getting cravings every day for stuff. Some days I get cravings for burritos, then ice cream the next day, then moist chocolate chip cookies the next.

Recovery doesn't mean you don't get cravings. You can't get rid of them.

But here's the truth about cravings: they can't actually do anything.

The way the brain makes you do things you don't want to do is by making you feel anxious, deprived, or fearful. Cravings are all emotional.

One of the best ways to deal with cravings is to confront it head on. That's what I teach in my YouTube videos (channel Kevin Burciaga) and as part of my program.

Avoiding cravings, or worse, caving into them, is the surest way to make sure that you will have overwhelming cravings in the future.

Listening to cravings, and not avoiding them, is the best bet. If you can't get rid of them, you might as well get used to them.
